PERFORMANCE MAKE UP INSTRUCTIONS

Stage makeup is an essential part of performing and must be worn. Stage lighting and the distance of the audience make the dancer appear washed out, "flat" and expressionless. The purpose of stage makeup is to add colour to the skin and to exaggerate the features, making them clearly visible to the audience. Stage makeup in essence must be applied very dark in colour but when it is Picture Day, apply makeup lighter, like regular day makeup.

                                 Steps to Apply makeup

    STEP 1:
Apply the "Brown" eyeshadow on most of the eyelid. Extend slightly out on the lid.
Apply the white shadow or pencil at the very top (under the eyebrow) and also apply to the top of the eyelid (above the eyelashes).

    STEP 2:
Apply black mascara. (Some students might want to use the eyelash curler).
If applying fake eyelashes, put glue onto end of lashs, wait 30 seconds, then put on starting at the inside of the end. Try to get close to the eyelid.
Then apply black eyeline to the top and bottom of the eyelids.
    STEP 3:
To apply the blush, start under middle of the check and brush up to the ear.  Make sure this is applied many time so it is very dark in colour and can be seen far away.
    STEP 4:
Apply the lipstick and rub lips together.
