Darlene's Dance Academy is a close-knit group that puts the FUN BACK INTO DANCE but also demonstrates the need to achieve excellence through hard work. This is a unique facility offering a positive environment and creative teaching with professional instructors who maintain a high standard of excellence.

UNIQUE STUDIO ATMOSPHERE:

When your child opens the door to his/her dance academy, 'Bug Land' awaits as they hang up their clothes or get changed in 'Barbie's Closet' while little ones play under the big leaf. Wash your hands in the 'King or Queen's Throne' and then explore the art of dance in one of the theme studios: 'Hollywood, Tropical or Fairytale'. In addition, the 'Cantina' provides a quiet location to study or cook something to eat. While you're there, questions or information can always be found at the 'Lion's Den'.

What else do we have?

·        Hugh 2-door entrance to remove all shoes and boots

·        Kid’s play area to keep the young ones busy

·        Seated waiting area with telephone for students to use

·        2 large and 1 small air-conditioned studios

·        1-way windows to view into studios

·        Rubber mounted sprung dance floors

·        Barres and mirrors in studios

·        Reception window and office

·        Change room for those needing privacy for changing

·        Large hallway with wall hangers for children to use

·        Water fountain

·        Large bathrooms

·        For children who remain at the studio for a long time: study table for homework with access to kitchen, fridge, microwave, toaster oven and hot pot.  For adults and teachers – coffee!!!

Please be aware of two important rules of the studio:

NO SHOES: There are no outside shoes allowed past the entrance into the studio at any time! Children’s dance shoes need to be clean and free from any tracked in dirt and rocks so that our studio floors stay in good shape.

PLAY AREA: Please monitor your children in the play area!  Noise levels need to be kept down.  No standing on stools.  Cleanup is required or all items will be removed from the area!!!

Classes are offered from 3 years old to Adult during the afternoon, evenings and Saturdays.

CLASS RECOMMENDATIONS FOR 3 to   6 YEAR OLD

3 YEAR OLDS:    NURSERY Program                                                         (^1/2 hour)

Specially designed for this age as they get to explore different adventures while learning how to dance.

4 YEAR OLDS:    PRESCHOOL Program                                                   (^3/4hour)

A fun energy program consisting of mostly ballet with a little bit of jazz with music that they can relate to.

5 YEAR OLDS:    PRE PRIMARY Program                                                (^3/4hour)

                               TAP PRE PRIMARY Program                                       (^3/4hour)

This will be a separate class designed specifically for the 5 year old with more focus on technique in the Preschool class

6 YEAR OLDS:    TAP PRIMARY Program                                                  (^3/4hour)

                               JAZZ PRIMARY Program                                               (^3/4hour)

                               BALLET PRIMARY Program                                          (^3/4hour)

At this age, you would now start choosing the separate category of Tap, Jazz or Ballet.  You can enroll in more than one discipline of dance.
